The Most Populair Game Consoles of the Moment
The year 2020 was a great year for gamers. Multiple game consoles were released to the delight of many people. No matter what time of day, a fun game is always a good way to relax for a while. In terms of price the Playstation and Xbox do not, therefore it is good to ask yourself which game console suits you best.
Except for the price, they do differ in a few other things. For example, on the PlayStation you play exclusive games such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon’s Souls. On the Xbox, the only exclusive coming for now is Gears Tactics, but you already play games through a Netflix-like subscription, where you play over 100 games through Microsoft’s cloud. Read on quickly to learn more about the biggest differences and choose the best console for you.
Sony Playstation 5
By far the winner of the best-selling game console of the young generation is the Playstation. Experience console gaming more realistically than ever before with the PlayStation 5. Because this PlayStation 5 features a CD tray, you’ll also use physical games and Blu-ray movies. The powerful graphics processor in this console lets you game at 4K resolution with a maximum refresh rate of 60 frames per second. In addition, thanks to the SSD drive, games load up to 20x faster than on previous generations of the PlayStation. The sound is also improved by the 3D audio support. So you can hear exactly where the sound is coming from and how far away the source of the sound is. In-game you control your character with the supplied DualSense controller. Sony has equipped this controller with tactile feedback and trigger effects, so you can not only see and hear, but also feel what is happening in your game.

❌ To get the most out of the console’s graphics power, you’ll need a TV with at least 4K resolution and a refresh rate of at least 60Hz
Microsoft Xbox Series
The Xbox Series X is the successor to the Xbox One. This Series X has a CD tray that allows you to play all your games on CD. There are also a lot of new features added to this Xbox compared to its predecessor. For example, the new Xbox uses nvme SSD storage, making loading times shorter than ever. In addition, the console supports Direct X raytracing, so games look even better. Also the refresh rate of your image goes up to 144 frames per second when you play in full HD or quad HD. If you play in 4K, then the refresh rate is 60Hz. As a result, you won’t have choppy images and gameplay will look smooth. In addition, easily expand the console’s memory with an expansion card. This is a card that you plug into the Xbox and immediately expands the memory by the size of the expansion card. This gives you more space to save your games and download updates.

Nintendo Switch
This is a completely different console than the ones above, but no less fun. In 2017, Nintendo released a brand new console: the Nintendo Switch. Since the previous console (Nintendo Wii U) was not as successful as Nintendo hoped, the goal was to get success with this console. Judging by most reviews on the internet, the Nintendo Switch does have more success than the previous console. However, it is not cheap, so it is wise to be well informed about it. The Switch can be used in 3 different ways. Place the Switch in the docking station and you play your games on the big TV in the living room. Using the console on the go? Then you play with the controllers on either side of the 6.2-inch screen, similar to the Wii U Gamepad. Disconnect the 2 joy-con controllers and you play as a couple, each with one of the controllers. If you have more than 2 controllers, you can play with up to 4 players on 1 Nintendo Switch.
✅ The Nintendo distinguishes itself from other consoles by the flexibility with which you can vary play options
✅ Through WiFi it is possible to play locally with other players. This makes the Nintendo Switch the ideal console for multiplayer games
✅ The Nintendo Switch is very powerful, so the computer games you play load very quickly. It is therefore not comparable with a Playstation or Xbox
❌ The screen is very similar to a tablet, making the image very sharp, but in bright light it is difficult to see what is happening on the screen
❌ The internal memory is only 32GB, which means you can only purchase three to four games online. The rest you will have to buy in physical form. It is possible to expand with a microSD card though.
